Scoping review on the mental health dimensions of environmental and climate-related migration

Along with with researchers from several international universities, I am carrying out a scoping review on the mental health implications of environmental and climate-related migration. The review will describe the current state of the evidence on this topic, and identify potential avenues for future research.
Data analysis on the availability of poppers and crystal meth use among gay, bisexual and men who have sex with men in Canada

In collaboration with researchers from the Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC), I am using data from the Sex Now survey to construct a time-series analysis examining patterns of alkyl nitrite (poppers) and crystal meth use. Among other objectives, this analysis will examine the impact of Canada’s 2013 crackdown on poppers on gay, bisexual and men who have sex with men.
Measuring and mitigating carbon emissions and waste production in humanitarian operations
(Dec 2020 – May 2021)
I collaborated with Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Canada on the Climate Smart MSF incubator project. This initiative aims to establish comprehensive measures of the environmental impact of MSF’s humanitarian operations and scale and mainstream sustainable practices within the organization.
Federal Register submission on the public health and human rights implications of the proposed ‘Security Bars’ rule

Along with several colleagues from Johns Hopkins University, I contributed a comment to the United States Federal Register on the proposed ‘Security Bars’ rule, which uses public health as a pretext for depriving people of their right to seek international protection. I also participated as a panellist on a webinar about submitting comments and other public health advocacy strategies.
Online resource library and blog on the micro-elimination of hepatitis C

As part of a team of public health professionals, I established Microelimination.org, a website intended to provide guidance and tools to individuals, organizations and governments interested in employing micro-elimination as a strategy for eradicating hepatitis C.
Contribution to Pakistan’s national guidelines on hepatitis C treatment
(Dec 2018 – Feb 2019)
Along with an interdisciplinary group of public health professionals and in collaboration with the Technical Advisory Group on Viral Hepatitis, I contributed a chapter on decentralization and community-based care to Pakistan’s 2020 national guidelines on the treatment of hepatitis C infection.
